Course Description: BI 13 - New Testament Introduction (3 hrs.)
Covers issues related to the canon and text of the New Testament. Deals with genre, background, authorship, date, recipients, and contents of New Testament books. Introduces the student to critical views and Synoptic issues.

Lecturer Bio: Richard BarcellosDr. Richard Barcellos is associate professor of New Testament Studies. He received a B.S. from California State University, Fresno, an M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary, and a Th.M. and Ph.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary. In 1990 he planted a church in Southern California and pastored there until July of 2006, when he relocated to Owensboro, KY, to become part of MCTS. In June of 2011, Dr. Barcellos returned to California and has begun to work with Grace Reformed Baptist Fellowship, a church plant in the Antelope Valley. He is the managing editor of Reformed Baptist Theological Review, author of In Defense of the Decalogue, and co-author of A Reformed Baptist Manifesto. He has also contributed articles to RBTR, Founders Journal, and Table Talk. Professor Barcellos is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society.
