Announcing Our New Basic Training Program!
Dear Fellow Laborer in the Gospel,
Grace, mercy and peace unto you. Our prayer is that you are prospering in the kind providence of God.
Our board is excited to announce the launch of a new program at the Midwest Center for Theological Studies this fall—Basic Training. Given the pressing need for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be freely proclaimed to the ends of the world, this initiative provides intensive preparation for rapid deployment.
Why did we create a new program to go along with our existing Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Theological Studies? First, we did it to provide flexibility. Basic Training allows for theological education while the student remains in his own community where he can be mentored by his pastors. Second, we did it to be efficient. Basic Training provides an opportunity to learn the essentials of planting and pastoring churches without a commitment to a longer program. While more training is often preferable, it is not always suitable to each man’s gifts, calling, and circumstances. Third, Basic Training offers value. The tuition is only $50 per credit hour. This means that the total tuition and fees for the entire program will come to $1,650. The only additional expenses will be the purchase of books and materials as well as travel associated with coming once a year to the campus of the Midwest Center for the modular class.
Now we hope you can see why we are excited about Basic Training. You can also read more about this innovative program on our web site at www.mctsowensboro.org/basictraining. If you know any men who could benefit from this approach to pastoral training, we would be happy to get in touch with them. We only ask that you kindly provide us with their contact information. We would also be more than happy to send you one or more brochures if this would be helpful.
Please pray for us as we begin this new endeavor. Above all, we seek to glorify Christ through preparing men to proclaim His gospel. May He use Basic Training to further God’s global kingdom!
Sincerely in Christ,
Pastor Ted Christman
